The end of yet another year. Christmas is here and a New Year dawns. I can’t believe how fast time goes. Our lives are so busy that time just seems to pass by more quickly each year. But so do events – planned and otherwise – happy and tragic!
I don’t know about you, but as I’m getting older, I’m thinking more about other people and the wider world. But mainly how I treat people and they treat me. I can’t change the world – or at least this is how I feel.
I think it’s just part of getting older and wiser – but I’m finding myself being more humanistic – if that is the correct phrase!
I live many philosophies and routines daily to maintain my own internal health and fitness, including my mental health maintenance, i.e. making sure I remain happy. Something I think we all should do, in light of rising mental health issues. I’m generally pretty happy, but like you, my body is a chemistry set, and it needs to be kept in homeostasis for consist good health. Don’t get me wrong! Like you I also have the odd bad day where I don’t feel great, but my knowledge and experience tells me it won’t last any more than a couple of days if I let it take its course. More importantly, I don’t let my bad mood or ill health affect other people. Easy said than done right!
So, what is actually the point of this article….before you switch off!!
I just thought I’d write the first things that came into my head, and let the emotion of the writing guide me. I’ve been so busy the last few months working on so many vital projects (for me and the business – and then there’s family life and being a good father) that I haven’t even had time to write on my personal site.
Well, this is it! A thought that seems to be at the forefront of my mind so often these days…about life, how you treat other people. The fact that our lives are running by so fast.
“Strive for happiness and health in your actions. Be as healthy as you can in your mind and body, and by the way – it takes daily maintenance. Eating properly, some level of exercise. Even if it’s only a walk and just 10 minutes of mindfulness/meditation daily. Your mental wellbeing is the most important part actually”.
“Change things in your like to find your own happiness. Those you care for cannot be happy around you until you are happy around them. You can’t serve others until you are happy. Find what makes you happy and cut out the factors that make you unhappy”.
A very merry Christmas to you and thank you for spending a few moments of your precious time reading some of my blog articles. Have a fabulous New Year full of mindfulness and good health.
One of my daily routines is to give without expecting anything back. What I can give you are time and knowledge. If you would like to know about a few of the daily routines that keep me happy and healthy please just ask me: firstname.lastname@example.org
